Conquered Web Services

Until last few months, I used to test Web Services. But for the last couple of months, Web Service was testing my patience.

I was preparing for the SCDJWS exam (highlighted in blue in the above picture) for the last eight months and had a very difficult time preparing for it mainly because of the breadth of topics that I had to cover. Each of the topics could be a book by themselves and the list of topics was four pages long.

But finally after much struggle and with god's grace, I cleared the Web Services test last Wednesday. Since it would take another 2 months to receive the certificate, I made one to post here ;)

Update: I have received my WS Certificate :-)

For want of a nail

Yesterday, I told my friend that we usually miss out on small things when working on a bigger issue and that would ultimately lead to failure. It reminded me of a rhyme I had learnt in my formative years called "For Want of a Nail".  This rhyme is sometimes quoted to explain butterfly effect and chaos theory. For want of a nail the shoe was lost. For want of a shoe the horse was lost. For want of a horse the rider was lost. For want of a rider the battle was lost. For want of a battle the kingdom was lost. And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

Outsourcing - The Simpsons Version

This video is an edited version of The Simpsons programme. Homer's manufacturing facility is outsourced to bangalore and he travels to India. How he adapts himself to Indian environment is the gist of the episode. Hilarious. Edit1: Full version of the simpsons video can be found here - The Simpsons 1717 Kiss Kiss Bang Bangalore
