I had to take my cousins out for the movie and the tickets were available for only two movies - one Telugu movie and this. My cousins and I chose to watch this movie since Jackie Chan starred in it. After the movie started, the first thought that ran in my mind was about the gender of the protagonist - he looked like a girl at some angles while the name sounded boyish.
It was very disheartening to see Jackie relegated to the supporting role (even the title cards show Jackie's name after Jaden's). He looks quite old in this movie. I still remember him as the hero from my childhood days. We used to rent VCR and the video cassettes of his movies (it was the only way of watching his movies in those days) when all the cousins come home during holidays. Hmm good old days.
With me talking about everything other than the movie should imply that there is nothing much in the movie to talk about. This is yet another hollywood MASALA. The hero gets beaten to pulp by the villains until just before the climax and finally the hero thrashes them up in the climax. We have seen this in countless hollywood movies like Rambo, Rocky.... The change here is that the hero is 12 years old. The only plus point of the movie is the visually appealing locales of China.
Nothing much stands out except for a few jokes here and there. This is an average fare and can be watched once just for Jackie chan and China.

ReplyDeletesaw this movie last weekend.. good time pass. regarding Mr. Chan, imagine him jumping and kicking baddies around and romancing women of his daughter's age (like Rajini or Vijayakanth), that will be worst. It's good to see him playing roles which reflects his age..
